Saturday was action packed and so much fun ( Mike, my unpaid assistant/fiance/super hero might disagree) with not one but two event deliveries. I will do a post with wedding photos once I get those, but today lets talk about West Elm. I love West Elm and have been obsessed with the company for years. I attended several PR events with them through my career and worked closely with their previous Creative Director during my last project in NYC. ( see that project here and here and here - to name a few. #proud) They are an amazing company with talented people and I always want everything in the store.  Did you know they offer a wedding registry service now? That was really fun for me!

The West Elm here in Indianapolis is super supportive of local makers. They have an area in the front of the store that carries locally made goods and th...

I would just like to say one thing - well a lot of things because this is a blog obvi - but major shoutout to brides who know nothing about weddings!! It was not until planning my own wedding that it hit me what an overwhelming and difficult process this could be for couples who had never worked in or around the wedding industry. Having worked around the pros at Martha Stewart Weddings and of course America's wedding queen herself, Darcy Miller, I have always felt confident that when the time came  I would be well equipped - and I am. We knocked major things off the list quickly (more on that later) and now I am having so.much.fun working on all the little details that are very big details to me.

While I love all of the modern Save the Dates that Minted, Wedding Paper Divas, etc have to offer ( these are pretty and time efficient choices...

If you follow me on instagram you might of noticed my posts slowed down a bit. This year has been SO CRAZY FULL of change. I moved halfway across the country (which that in itself has about 1094398439483948394.6987 changes), moved into a (new to me) house that we have been remodeling, have had to make new friendships and establish a new normal. What else. Oh yeah, I GOT ENGAGED. Best. Year. Ever.

I talk about New York City a lot, but I lived there my entire adult life and it is just...part of you. I have always been an artist, a maker. I entered local art shows growing up, took art in high school and college, and always found myself drawn to color and detail. Even though I was born with a love for it in my heart, my jobs in NYC and the insanely talented people I was lucky enough to work for are what and who really watered that little seed and made...

I met this sweet couple through Jen at Girl Meets Party. Girl Meets Party is a Chicago based company that matches brides ( + grooms!) with their dream vendors. Jen reached out to me shortly after I moved here (via Instagram) and I was both flattered + excited to have her send couples my way. Ashley was the first bride I signed through GMP + boy am I glad we connected! Ashley + Joe are such an easy going + FUN couple. Dream clients, I tell you!! Ashley knew she wanted her wedding colors to be a vibrant blue with strong peach details. With a 19 ( yes 19 total!) person bridal party, the peach sure made the loveliest of statements. Their ceremony was at the stunning Indiana State House, here in Indianapolis. Holy moly, that place is gorgeous. That building is such a breath of fresh air, not to mention it is loaded with histor...

Maybe it's the change in seasons. Maybe it's the change in me because of my life's seasons. Maybe it's that amazing man in my life. Maybe it's those healing powers that flowers provide. Whatever it is, lately I have felt such gratefulness in my heart. I've felt pride. Proud of myself for accomplishing many goals in the last six months, but most of all, being present and stopping in a moment and thinking "wow, this is awesome'. One of the things that has contributed to that is all of the new friends I have made in Indy. People often say to me "you know more people then I do here!". That is because I network, I reach out, I reciprocate, and I put effort in. Meaningful connections with people are so huge not only in business, but in quality of life. Through networking and other chance encounters, I have met some of the most friendly and talented peo...

Hey Friends!

Sorry for the silence for the past...well...numbers aren't important. I'm back! I am excited to share some adventures, experiences, and local favorites with you! First up, our AWESOME stay at the insanely beautiful Thompson Nashville. Swooooooon ALERT. We have stayed at several Thompson Hotels and they are my favorite, mainly because they don't feel like a chain. The design is so so gorgeous + I just cannot get enough. (this was one of our other favorites for a NYC staycation we had) We headed south for Christmas to spend the holidays with my family in Georgia + decided to spend New Years in Nashville to break up the trip + because Nashville is a special city in both of our hearts. Mike + I have both spent a lot of time there seprately + together. It fills my southern needs, makes my heart flutter like a mini NYC at the same time, an...

One thing I am REALLY loving about being in a new place is all the different vendors I get to work with for the first time. The creative community in Indianapolis is so collaborative and FULL of talent. Each person I meet inspires me in a different way. I'd like to use this space to highlight others hard work and share the love.

Last week I got to work with Allison Tylek, of Allison Catherine Photography, while she photographed my event florals and pop-up flower shop. I rarely saw Allison during the event, but fast forward LESS THAN A WEEK later and I got tonsss of jaw dropping floral images from her. She is like a photography ninja!  Her promptness and willingness to share her images of my work was so appreciated. Her photos have color tones that are beautiful and emotional. These are the same qualities that draw me to flowers....

Is this happening? Am I writing a blog? Looks like it, folks!

I am so excited to share my first local Indianapolis wedding with y'all (and by y'all I mean my mom because that is probably the only person in attendance right now, ha). Sara was a dream bride and looked absolutely stunning and timeless. She is the definition of low key and was such a breath of fresh air! I like when clients know what they want, but I also like when a bride gives me a few adjectives and says to run with it. The florals for this wedding were inspired by the invitation and Sara's desire for simplistic and pretty in her color palette. The bride's family are huge fans of Key West, FL. They travel there often and their love for that little slice of heaven shows. I wanted to incorporate airy greens with southern flare as a nod to a place that is so special to them (and me!...
