Happy Friday..errr Thursday, friends.  I have been so swamped with weddings lately. When you are in the thick of a busy season it is easy to get overwhelmed with logistics, labor, anxiety, etc. People always say "Oh, you have the best job, I would  love to just play with flowers all day!". There is SO much labor in flowers, people. So. Much. Ordering and knowing how/when/where to order. Pricing and meeting with clients and brainstorming and constant emails with vendors, brides, parents, event planners - all simultaneously for a number of events. THEN you get the flowers. You have to clean + process every single stem. Create the designs and all that goes into it, pack them for delivery and THEN the actual delivery/setup and midnight return to break it all down, clean up and take home. After that you have a studio that looks like an actual tor...

When I got word from Williams-Sonoma that they were participating in a local tablescape event and were interested in having me create a centerpiece for their design, I knew that was going to be right up my alley. Tablescape is a design that I know well. From my past experience in my work, but also being born to a southern mother from Savannah, Georgia. Growing up, dinner parties were in your blood. My grandmother made 3 meals a day from scratch and you could count on a display of her absolute best linens on any given Sunday. Again, it is all in the details.

While my taste tends to lean more towards the modern end of the spectrum, I welcomed the opportunity to push myself outside of that comfort bubble to create something for a classic, timeless brand like Williams-Sonoma. So, I thought it would be fun to explain some of my creative process t...

I will do a post with wedding photos once I get those, but today lets talk about West Elm. I love West Elm and have been obsessed with the company for years. I attended several PR events with them through my career and worked closely with their previous Creative Director during my last project in NYC. ( see that project here and here and here - to name a few. #proud) They are an amazing company with talented people and I always want everything in the store.  Did you know they offer a wedding registry service now? That was really fun for me!

The West Elm here in Indianapolis is super supportive of local makers. They have an area in the front of the store that carries locally made goods and th...

I would just like to say one thing - well a lot of things because this is a blog obvi - but major shoutout to brides who know nothing about weddings!! It was not until planning my own wedding that it hit me what an overwhelming and difficult process this could be for couples who had never worked in or around the wedding industry. Having worked around the pros at Martha Stewart Weddings and of course America's wedding queen herself, Darcy Miller, I have always felt confident that when the time came  I would be well equipped - and I am. We knocked major things off the list quickly (more on that later) and now I am having so.much.fun working on all the little details that are very big details to me.

While I love all of the modern Save the Dates that Minted, Wedding Paper Divas, etc have to offer ( these are pretty and time efficient choices...
