With spring (hopefully) just a few days away, but grey still clouding the Midwest, it feels like a great time to share one of my favorite greenery inspired weddings from last August. First of all, my bride Sarah was a total dream. She wanted me to "bring the outdoors in". She knew what she wanted, but also let me get creative. She was so thoughtful throughout the entire process and even helped clean up at the end of the night! I got to work on this wedding with one of my fav friends and vendors, Stacy Able of Stacy Able Photography. This was my biggest wedding yet and it can get stressful when you are in a time crunch because the venue only allows x amount of time or its 100 degrees which means death of flowers - there are many factors that can create stress when you are a wedding vendor, but having a photographer like Stacy on you...

I am so excited to share all the details of our wedding. Committing our lives to each other in front of our families, friends, and God was the most amazing feeling. People keep asking if I "feel different" and the answer is yes. You can feel a tangible bond that is just different. It feels like....forever. We made it our mission to make every single detail of our engagement, planning, rehearsal dinner, ceremony, reception, and entire wedding weekend personal and intentional. I wanted everything to represent something or someone that was special to us and part of our love story.

The first thing I want to share is the meaning behind our save the dates. I knew I wanted something custom. Minted, Wedding Paper Divas, Etsy, etc all have lovely choices, but I am not a template kind of bride. Again, I wanted something with specific meaning. Let me back up...

I am excited to share this post with y'all because it is something a bit new and fresh as far as services go. Flowers, writing, throw pillows - they are all details that come together to create something and to make you feel something.  Growing up, my Mom was constantly rearranging our house. She loved to go antiquing and that became something we did together quite often.  All of this to say that I am completely head over heels, love-struck for interior design and I owe it all to her. I always have been. I would much rather spend money on a new rug than any pair of shoes. I don't really love calling it interior design because I am not technically trained in it and I never want to diminish the hard work of those that are, but in this era of Joanna Gaines and the DIY movement, anything is possible if you have the passion.

Even though last weekend was quite the spring teaser, I got the photos from one of my winter weddings last week and just had to share.

Anna reached out to me through one of Mike's friends from high school. She hired me and to this day we have never actually met! It is so nice when a bride just trusts you. Fun fact: I never met my florist in person either! Anna wanted a winter bouquet and sent me a few inspo photos. I created a board for her with flower types I would use and she just let me roll with it. The outcome was fab and I loved the use of the pine cones she requested. I wired them myself, but pine cones can get bulky and not everyone wants the oversaturated (in my opinion) giant editorial bouquets so I found these really cool faux pine cone / spike stems at Hobby Lobby and they were perfect. Don't be afraid to use the resources you ha...
