Hey friends! If you follow me on Instagram then you saw my excitement (aka 500 stories) about the event I got to sponsor this week. Edge Mentoring partnered with HGTV and the ladies of  Good Bones, Indy's own design show, to bring local Indianapolis women together for an evening of fellowship and fun. In their words, Edge Mentoring is "A national mentoring organization for emerging and established leaders that combines personal, professional and spiritual development into one experience.". They are a faith based organization that takes young professionals in their 20's and 30's and matches them with mentors in their community. How awesome is that? Edge hosts all kinds of intimate events and this one in particular was ladies only.  If you are not familiar with Good Bones, it's a show on HGTV where mother/daughter duo Karen E. Laine and Mina S...

We got our rehearsal/rehearsal dinner photos back over the weekend and it has been SO much fun to look through them (500 times) and remember every second with the ones we love. The wedding images are to be delivered today and I am on the edge of my seat, but wanted to go ahead and share all the special pieces of our wedding eve with you! If you know me/follow me then you know how much I love and appreciate photography. My cousin Rebecca of The Indie Image just so happens to be a talented wedding, lifestyle, and commercial photographer based in Raleigh , NC - score! So, what happens when two cousins that both work in the wedding industry get married the same year? They trade the most meaningful gift of all - their talents! Stop by my past blog post here to see Rebecca's super special mountain wedding that I got to flower and keep following al...

Mitzi reached out to me at a time when I was weaning off of the wedding circuit. It is not where my passion lies in the sense that I want to do all different types of projects and the wedding biz demands your time and attention for very long periods of time that can easily fill up your entire year.  Don't get me wrong. I live for the smaller, creative, intimate ones and if you are having one of those then by all means I am your girl, but I am no longer taking on larger scale weddings - at least not in 2018. I do want to say thank you to all of the brides that have reached out to me - it truly means so much, but I feel confident in the other talented floral designers I have referred you to!

Now, back to Mizi. I could tell from her very first e-mail that she was a free spirit that felt deeply. Mitzi and her fiance Dan were planning to elo...

With Easter behind us, that means Mother's Day will be here before we know it! What better gift could you give her than a thoughtful celebration all about her?? Last year I shared a styled shoot that I did with friends Sarah and Nakia of Fork + Function, as well as, Stacy Able. You can find my write up on that shoot here or here on 100 Layer Cakelet! This year I want to do some scaled back ideas that feel attainable to everyone.

We celebrated my Mom's 70th birthday this year and let me just say that I hope I got her genes because she does not look it! I mention her often and that so much of my passion for creativity and intentional details come from her. She was the type of Mom that hung ribbons from the kitchen table light fixture for our birthday breakfast. To this day she has a "Welcome Home!" sign waiting for me ( and now Mike, too!) every si...
